Asian Grand Prix 2026 is more than just one tournament. The event schedule in Dushanbe includes 12 competitions across Backgammon, Longgammon and Sprintgammon, each with its own format, match length, time control, capacity and entry fee.
The tournaments will be held from October 5 to 11, 2026, at the Nuroz Mountain Complex in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. If you plan to participate in multiple events, your choices depend on more than just your preferences; the schedule also matters, and some events overlap.

How Many Events Can You Enter?
According to the official tournament regulations, players competing only in Backgammon are allowed to register for all eight events associated with this discipline; this count includes Sprintgammon alongside the seven Backgammon events listed above. Players who compete only in Longgammon are also allowed to register for all four Longgammon events.
For those who want to compete in both Backgammon and Longgammon, however, things are a little more complicated. Scheduling conflicts between some events affect the selection of events.
Which Events Overlap?
Participants in the Longgammon Main Tournament are not allowed to participate in the Backgammon Super Blitz, and vice versa, because the two events are held at the same time.
A player who remains in the Longgammon Main Tournament after Round 6 and advances to Round 7 is not allowed to participate in the Backgammon Masters Cup.
A player who remains in the Backgammon Main Tournament after Round 8 and advances to Round 9 is not allowed to participate in the Longgammon Masters Cup.
This is where reviewing the tournament schedule before registering becomes important; progressing in one main event may prevent you from participating in another competition.
Backgammon Doubles Registration Requires an Additional Step
To participate in the Backgammon Doubles event, registering through the information system alone is not enough. One member of the team must also complete a separate Doubles registration form and attach the payment receipt.
Given the differences in capacity, entry fees and schedules for each event, it is best to review the official tournament table and schedule together before submitting your registration, especially if you plan to compete in both Backgammon and Longgammon.
