Backgammon is more than a game. It is a world of players, tournaments, rivalries, stories and moments unfolding every day across the globe.

Backgammon World was created with a simple purpose:

To make sure these moments are seen, told and preserved.

Backgammon World is an international news and media resource for the backgammon community. We cover important backgammon news and events in Iran and around the world, from tournaments and results to players, interviews, reports, images and stories from the past.

But our work goes beyond publishing news.

We aim to follow every important event from before it begins until it ends: introducing the tournament, its players and key developments; reporting on the action; sharing results and champions; and ultimately creating a complete record of the event.

Much of today's backgammon news appears on social media: a result in one channel, a photograph on one page, an interview somewhere else. Over time, much of this information gets lost.

We want to change that.

Backgammon World brings important news and information together in an organized, searchable place. It should serve both someone who wants to know what is happening in backgammon today and someone looking, years from now, for a tournament, a player or a historic moment.

To us, a tournament is more than a bracket and a final result.

Behind every competition are people, rivalries, decisive moments and stories worth preserving.

That is why, alongside daily news, part of Backgammon World is dedicated to backgammon history and archives: players and tournaments of the past, images, important moments and the stories that have shaped the game.

Backgammon World was founded by Pouya Rajabi, a backgammon player, teacher and active member of the community.

Years of competing, teaching, creating content and working closely with players and organizers made one need increasingly clear: backgammon needs an organized place for news, storytelling and archives.

Backgammon World grew out of that need, so that the game is not seen only in the moment, but its events are recorded and kept for the future.

We do not intend to publish everything.

Backgammon World focuses on the moments that matter in the game, striving for accurate information, trustworthy storytelling and content worth keeping.

Here, we see backgammon through its people, rivalries, stories and history, as well as the game itself.
